The Power of Art: Verizon Selfie Contest with Power96 at our Augmented Reality Murals in Wynwood, Coconut Grove and Hialeah

As part of Miami Art Week 2024, Project Roadmap Murals, a leading Miami mural company, partnered with Verizon and Power96 to launch the Power of Art selfie contest, which was an interactive public art activation celebrating three new murals installed across Miami. Designed to engage the community and highlight the work of local Miami artists, the contest invited participants to snap a selfie in front of one of the murals and upload it for a chance to win a $1,000 Verizon gift card.

Each Miami mural was painted by the Project Roadmap mural team, which are some of Miami’s top muralists in the city including Roc Sol, Miss Lushy and Dee Perez. Each mural reflected the spirit and vibrancy of its surrounding neighborhood. These large-scale murals were more than just visual art, they also featured interactive augmented reality experiences powered by BrandXR, creating a unique blend of technology and public art.

Located in Wynwood, Hialeah, and Coconut Grove, the murals quickly became must-see destinations for art enthusiasts to enjoy during Art Basel week, drawing both locals and visitors to experience the art firsthand. At the Verizon store in Midtown Miami, Project Roadmap hosted a special community celebration with DJ Zog and Ivy Unleashed of Power96. Attendees enjoyed music, giveaways, fun selfie props, and the opportunity to meet the artists. Project Roadmap founder Roc Sol also gifted a one-of-a-kind hand-painted snapback to a lucky participant.

The Power of Art campaign exemplified how Wynwood murals and public art can become powerful tools for storytelling, connection, and brand engagement. By activating these murals across Miami, Project Roadmap not only brought color and creativity to Verizon storefronts, but also invited the public to interact with art in a fresh and meaningful way.

To top it off, the video recap for Miami Art Week was scored by Miami Beat Wave, a GRAMMY Recording Academy member and multi-charting music producer whose original beat added the perfect rhythm to the mural celebrations hosted by Verizon and Project Roadmap.
