Meet DJ Abstru

Special Events DJ | Event Host | Turntablist

DJ Abstru is a battle-tested DJ, turntablist, and one of the most decorated competitive DJs on the Project Roadmap team. He began his DJ journey in 1995 and has spent over 30 years mastering his craft across competition stages, clubs, events, and cultural celebrations across Atlanta, Miami, and beyond.

A competitor in the 2001 DMC US Finals in San Francisco, DJ Abstru represented as the Atlanta Regional Champion and became known for his technically precise routines and his signature European setup — two turntables on one side of the mixer — making him one of the last DJs to battle that way at that level of competition. The DMC World DJ Championship is widely considered the most prestigious DJ competition in the world, and competing at the US Finals places DJ Abstru in rare company that very few DJs in the country can claim.

That same technical mastery, precision, and crowd command he developed on the competition stage is what he brings to every stage he touches. DJ Abstru is a regular presence at some of Miami's most popular events, venues, and cultural activations — known for high energy sets that move crowds and create the kind of atmosphere that makes any event unforgettable.

As a core member of the Project Roadmap entertainment team, DJ Abstru brings world-class turntablism and infectious energy to our mural celebrations, brand activations, community events, galas, and full event productions across South Florida and beyond. Whether we are unveiling a large-scale mural in Wynwood, producing a brand activation for a Fortune 500 client, or celebrating a community art moment, DJ Abstru is there to make sure the energy matches the occasion.
